A shaman would treat life-threatening illnesses

[Fortuine:]
Just anything that’s out of the ordinary, particularly if it’s life threatening, they’re the ones that I think go to the shaman, and the shaman has a variety of ways at least in early times of dealing with these things, with chants, or drumming, or dancing, or that short of thing. Or some sort of sleight of hand, you might say, where they disappear and go and seek the soul, and all of these types of procedures, which were pretty well documented in early times.
