Sacred teachings are passed down orally, not through the written word

[Thompson:]
A lot of things that are considered sacred, you know, that a lot of the historians are not aware of. The elders, you know, reveal to their own people, and then they don’t want you to write it down. So when we teach that to our own children, we don’t write it down either, but yet we teach them in the oral language.
