Many Lakota people are very hesitant to puncture the skin, their skin.

I didn’t know that.

Which makes it particularly a problem with glucose monitoring for persons who have diabetes, or for persons on insulin who might have to give themselves shots with their insulin. It’s not an issue with pain, but it’s an issue with body self-image especially as it relates to the Creator.
