Hospice as a benefit to individuals who move to the city, to help them cope with isolation

[KELLIHER:]
I have seen individuals come from the village to our large hospital and feel quite bewildered not only by their disease process but really by the size of the community and it seems to me that people have a tendency to feel isolated and alone and to be back in their culture, in their community, in their family, for that special time of their life, that end of life is very important. I think that owning the power of being able to determine how it is that they wish to end their life is a really powerful time and without hospice, I think that you take a lot of that power away.
