Human beings are creatures of the environment

[Bradley:]
If you look at the creation chants of the Native Hawaiians, it all comes down to human beings coming out of the land, and the water, and the sky and just being creatures of the environment. And the environment is them. They are the environment. That’s why it’s so difficult after Western contact to talk about buying, selling land and land as a commodity. It just doesn’t exist in the culture.
