Native Hawaiians and their family are treated as a unit

I think a lot of Native Hawaiian patients and their family usually are treated as sort of a unit, and it’s kind of amazing as a Western trained physician where we’re very focused on, you know, the individual needs, or the individual health problems, and then realizing that patients that come to you, often come with an extension of their family and how that’s part of the healing process.
