Critical in Hawai‘i is reestablishment of connection with the land

What’s critical in Hawai’i is reestablishing our connection to the land. Because after the overthrow there was a disconnection. And the Hawaiian values are based on taking care of the land. And so that’s part of the victimization thing. You know, the responsibility was taken away, so then it was kind of throwing your hands up and saying, “Well, I give up.”
