Educating elders about health issues is a key strategy to reaching the larger native population

Everyone in their family listens to their “kapuna,” their elder. If they say don’t smoke, you better not smoke or else she’ll let you know what’s up. She’ll make sure you’re not smoking. So educating the “kapuna” or the elders is one of the ways that a lot of the organizations—one of the strategies that these organizations are using to improving these health issues.
