The health center is a community center

[Guerrero:]
So the health center is a gathering place, a community center of sorts.
[Lindberg:]
Somebody said in the meeting that the gathering function is almost as important as the treating function. Do you think that’s right?
[Guerrero:]
I definitely do. I think that without seeing other Indian people, running into other Indian people and hearing their stories—I mean there’s a certain level of comfort that comes along with that, and you go to the health center to get your services to be treated for illnesses to receive your medicines, what have you, but if it’s more pleasurable, then obviously you’re going to continue to go back.
