Indian gaming is not real economic development


[Bird:]
One of the things, although I think it’s a dismal approach personally, and sort of the government’s way of sort of getting out of the Indian business, the whole gaming thing instead of doing real economic development, across the board that would benefit everyone, it’s sort of like, “Okay, here’s a bone. We’ll throw it out there and see what happens,” and then the rest of America will think that all Indians are rich now, and we’re taking care of the Indians. Well, that’s not the reality.
