No one of the Kalaupapa residents wants to be last patient

[Arce:]
But I realize that as we have fewer and fewer patients that their biggest concerns—I cannot help them with. I wish I could.
[Lindberg:]
Because they are what?
[Arce:]
They’re afraid because they don't want to be the last patient. None of them wants to be the last.
[Lindberg:]
I see.
[Arce:]
They don’t want to see everybody else pass away in front of them, all their friends and then be the only one left, because we’re around and we see it. They go through this pain. I just wish that I could relieve that from them, but we cannot.
[Lindberg:]
Of course.
