Health aids in rural communities are crucial in addressing Alaska's medical transportation challenges

[Lindberg:]
So how to people – how do patients get here to your hospital?
[Galbreath:]
Well, of course, there are some people who live locally, and they can easily get here. But we serve the entire state, and there's a lot of people in the state who live in rural areas that are only accessible in the winter by planes. I guess you can use a snow machine and dog sled, too. That's another option. But there are very remote communities. Some are pretty small.
