AAIP supports students interested in medicine from high school through medical school

[Galbreath:]
In 2010 there were 157 American Indian and Alaska Native people in medical schools. That's appalling.
[Lindberg:]
So what to do?
[Galbreath:]
Well, I think that first recognizing it's a problem. The Association of American Indian Physicians, we work and have worked for a number of years trying to increase the number we work with - high school kids - and when somebody gets into medical school we have an association for students, and we help support them and mentor them and bring the students to our meetings and try to connect them with people in the area where they're going to school.
