The Hawaiian population has diminished greatly

[Akana:]
Our Hawaiian population, those who are of Hawaiian descendent throughout the world the numbers are around 528,000 of which half of that is in Hawaii, so the number has changed far greater than during the life of Prince Jonah, during the life of Queen Liliuokalani, during the life of King David Kalakaua unlike the ancient chiefs - when we speak of the Kamehamehas - where there is a lot of written information nearly a million people of pure-line Hawaiians existed.
