Western medicine excels at treating acute illness while traditional medicine can benefit chronic illness

[Bradley:]
The most important thing I feel as a healer—and I feel that we are healers, the traditional Hawaiian healers are obviously healers, anyone that’s involved in the wellbeing of the patient whether it is curative, whether it’s preventive, whatever it may be, we’re all working in the same flow. We’re all working for the same goal, in the same way, whether we are doing it one way, or doing it another way. So what’s important is that we have a communication between us, both the Native Hawaiian healers and we on the Western side, to understand—even though sometimes we may not agree, either they or us, but to have at least an understanding for the benefit of the patient.
